Nine years. Nine long years of friendship and magic and technicolor miniature anthropomorphic horses. Lessons of friendship that we as children once had been taught or should have been taught, reminded to us as adults. A cartoon show originally aimed at little girls somehow found its way into every person no matter their age. We watched these characters come to life on the television screen every Saturday morning, showing us their life stories. Stories that told of joy and sorrow, good times and hard, success and failures, and just every day slice of life. Sometimes they went on adventures to save the land or journey to the unexplored. We were shown the importance of the elements of friendship that helps to bind us and guide us and even protect our selves. With personal growth, we watch three young fillies finally achieve their goal of gaining their "cutie mark" and learning how to find new goals to help others. We see a self employed business mare expand her business and achieve her life goals. A top flying pegasus achieved her life long dream of joining the top areal group in the land and prove to be one of the best flyers in the land and the responsibility it brought with it. We learned of the families of these characters and understood how relatable each one was to our own lives.

I personally hope it has helped to make myself and many others better people for having watched and followed for so long. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was the show we needed when it came out, and in these times, I'd say its the show we still need to help us to find a way to come together to put aside our differences and find that commonality that brings us together so we can celebrate what makes us unique and different but still able to share together in something great and wonderful.

So to you, My Little pony: Friendship is Magic, I say this, "So long, and thanks for all the ponies."

For those who watched the latest episode of MLP,  "Make New Friends But Keep Discord", you might have noticed some references that Discord was giving us through the show. Obviously the metal gear solid box was there to see, but did you notice that the tux discord wore and the hat the smooze wore was from Dumb and dumber? Also, when discord was trying to be a comedian, he took on three specific comic looks. The first was Eddie Murphy, the second was Rodney Dangerfield, and finally, the most iconic with the watermelon smashing, Gallagher.

Aside from those references, we still got to see that there are hippy ponies that are really... out there. Discord has his own plain of oblivion as it would seem (Sheogorath might actually be jealous of it), and the reimaging of The Smooze! Celestia laughs at the joke done about Twilight, and is the one that invited Discord to help liven up the Gala. (oh twilight, when will you learn that the Gala is boring and Celestia wants to liven it up with chaos?) This episode was also great in that it showed us discord learning more about friendship and how you can have different friends and not abandon your old ones. Oh, and sock puppet with crayon drawn background dimension... I had to agree and say what is that when tree hugger said and pointed too.

This had to be one of the top episodes of this season so far.

Something that makes me feel better, feel happy, and feel some joy and hope, is ponies. Yes, MLP:FIM makes me happy. Just something about the show, the characters, and even the bronies and their art, comics, music, ect, really makes me happy. Perhaps it is the purity of the whole thing? the honesty, the sight of friendship, togetherness, acceptance, even triumph over evil and darkness and even redemption? Maybe that is is just so colorful and warm feeling, and helps to push back against the cold and grey of the world and see that there is still some good in it.

Ponies... give me hope.

So a while back, past sins was being offered up in hard cover for a second edition. Since I mised the first run, I'd figure I'd get in on the second running of the story. I had heard of it and Nyx for a while, and ever read some of the fan comics for it, but I had not read the actual fic. So I finally got my copy of the book and decided it would be something for me to read while I was doing my holiday traveling. First off, love the dust jacket and hard cover art. I started reading it and honestly felt like I couldn't put it down. It was engaging, it made me tear up, have a giggle, and have concern. I just finished it after about 2 days worth of reading, and I honestly just loved it. I do hope to see more printed works about Nyx as she grows and matures. And for those claiming Nyx is a "Mary Sue", please, remove your head from your rear and actually research who and what mary sue is and came from, and understand, that though Nyx was the main focus, she was not a Mary sue by any means.

So going through MLP Friends forever 8, I noticed that the stage coach driver pony is basically Sam Elliott.

So there is him from the comic, and here is Sam Elliott real life.

How has no one mentioned this before?
